Sarah Jane Hamilton divorced Archibald on 15 Mar 1861, and then married Samuel Lorenzo Howard on 1 Apr 1865. In 1870, she was living in Mill Creek, but she later moved to Riverton where she remained until her death. Following are the census entries for her after she left the Gardner household.
