A New History About Kilsyth
Very recently, Tom Crainey published a book about Kilsyth during the time that Robert Gardner and his family lived there. Mr. Crainey saw the information on my blog about Archibald's personal history and the account Archibald gave of the time when his father was imprisoned in Stirling Castle. Mr. Crainey asked where he could see the original writing. He has made brief mention of the Gardners in the book, but more importantly, his historical knowledge has added more meaning to the brief writings that we have had. Archibald's memories did not provide full context for those of us unfamiliar with the events of the time. I found this book fascinating to learn more about Kilsyth and all that was behind Robert's imprisonment. I have no financial interest in the book; I mention it here in case others in the family are interested in learning more.
The book is available at Amazon.com.

Just finished reading The Hidden Story of the Kilsyth Weavers by Tom Crainey. I enjoyed the political and religious background to Archibald Gardner family. I noticed how he summarized and rearranged words that sounded familiar...i.e. yours, I believe. But there were no " ...". He did acknowledge your contribution from Special Collections at BYU archives. I've been to Kilsyth many times since we've are serving in the Scotland/Ireland Mission. Thanks for your efforts.
