Mill in Leland, Utah

This is a photo of the mill built by Archibald Gardner in Leland, Utah. It was a three-story building with a basement, and it was completed in February 1899. Archibald was 85 years old at the time.

An article about the mill was published in the Provo Daily Herald on 13 March 2011. The last paragraph reads, "The mill has been a landmark in Leland a long time. It changed names at least once and owners multiple times. Leland Roller Mills was incorporated in 1898, built by Archibald Gardner, Pleasant Bradford, and C.U. Bradford. A canal was built on the hill above the mill so water flowed down a penstock to furnish power for the operation. Leland Mill continued to be powered by water until the 1960s . . .."
